Recipe: How to Make Your Own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds at Home

Can't wait for the next event that we'll be at?  Well, wait no more!  Here is how to make your own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds  at home...beer battered style, of course!

Making your own Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds  at home is relatively easy.  You just need a few ingredients, some patience (about 5-10 minutes from start to finish), and an empty stomach!  (You'll need an empty stomach because once you have one, you'll want more!)

What you will need:

  • Personal Deep Fryer (or a skillet pan)
  • Tongs
  • 2 bowls
  • 1 serving container
  • Napkins
  • Vegetable oil
  • Half a can of your favorite beer (preferably a Wisconsin brand!)
  • Cheese Curd Batter Mix (sold on our Food Menu page)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 bag of cheese curds (sold on our Food Menu page)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oil to 350F – 375F degrees
  2. In one bowl, slightly beat the egg
  3. In the other bowl, mix together the Cheese Curd Batter Mix and beer
  4. Dip the cheese curds in the egg (frozen cheese curds work the best)
  5. Roll the egg covered cheese curds in the batter mix
  6. Carefully place the covered cheese curd into the heated oil
  7. Fry 1-2 minutes or until golden brown (over-frying will cause the cheese to ooze out from the batter casing)
  8. Strain, eat, enjoy, wipe excess oil from lips with napkin, repeat!
